Our Team

Onevet Clínica Veterinária Leçavet has been developing its clinical capabilities in recent years, investing in staff training and equipment, with the primary objective of ensuring the health and well-being of animals and their families. We have a team of four veterinary surgeons, two assistants and one nurse.

Veterinary Doctors

Rachel Rollo Marques

Clinical Director / Veterinary Doctor

Pre-Bologna degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) at the University of Porto in 2002.

Completed a curricular internship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in Barcelona, Spain, and at the São Paulo State University (UNESP) – Botucatu, in São Paulo, Brazil. She is the clinical director of Onevet Clínica Veterinária Leçavet, with her main areas of interest being Soft Tissue Surgery, Oncology, Anaesthesia and Geriatrics.
She has completed several training courses in her areas of interest, including postgraduate training in Small Animal Surgery at Improve International in 2017/2018, the course “Update in Veterinary Oncology – Onco Pop-up” by the Department of Veterinary Public Health (ISPUP) in 2019, and also participated in the Dechra Anaesthesia Course with Dr Miguel Ángel Cabezas, also in 2019.

Rita Maruco Oliveira

Veterinary Doctor

Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) at the University of Porto in 2017.

She completed a curricular internship at Onevet Veterinary Hospital in Porto in 2016/2017 and at The Neighbourhood Veterinary Centre in London in 2017. She has been working with the Leçavet group since 2017 and is currently the clinical director of Onevet Veterinary Clinic in Freixieiro. Her main areas of interest are Cardiology and Internal Medicine, having participated in several training courses and conferences in her areas of preference, namely the postgraduate training in Small Animal Cardiology at Improve International in 2020/2021 and the Course in Echocardiography in Dogs and Cats at ECOS Vet in 2021/2022. In 2025, she obtained the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Cardiology from the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS).

Sara Fernandes

Veterinary Doctor

Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) at the University of Porto, in 2018.
Interned in the area of Public Health/Shelter Medicine at the municipal veterinary services of Porto and Mirandela. Joined the Leçavet group team in 2024, with Internal Medicine, Surgery and Ultrasound as his main areas of interest. Completed several short courses and refresher courses in his areas of interest.

Inês Costa

Veterinary Doctor

Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2023. Completed a curricular internship at ACRIGA OPP and OPP in Bragança in 2021.
She has been working with the Onevet group since 2023, dividing her activities between the Leçavet group and the Porto Veterinary Hospital. Her main areas of interest are internal medicine and ultrasound. She completed intensive training in Abdominal Ultrasound – Level I in 2025 at Improve International.

Veterinary Nurse & Veterinary Assistant

Mariana Fernandes

Veterinary Nurse

Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Nursing from the Higher Agricultural School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in 2021.
Completed a curricular internship at the Montenegro Veterinary Reference Hospital in Porto that same year. Joined the Leçavet group team in 2022, with the main areas of interest being hospitalisation support, physiotherapy and exotic animals, having completed training in Small Animal Anaesthesia for nurses in 2024.

Helena Teixeira

Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Technical Assistant Course at Instituto Monitor, completed in 2003. Joined the Leçavet team in 2012, with main areas of interest being hospitalisation support, nutritional advice and operating theatre support.

Participated in several conferences at the Montenegro Veterinary Hospital, as well as online training courses accredited by AVEPA – Asociación Veterinarios Españoles Especialistas Pequeños Animales (Advice and disease prevention; Zoonoses in exotic animals and their care, and the role of the ATV in companion animal ophthalmology).
In her free time, she loves to pamper her best friend, her cat Roo.

Sofia Sarmento

Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Technical Assistant Course with specialisation in Shearing and Grooming from Master D, completed in 2019.
Joined the Leçavet group team in 2022, where she works as a receptionist, assistant and groomer. Her main interests are shearing and hospitalisation assistance. She has completed several training courses, mainly in the area of grooming.
