Our Team

The clinic team consists of four veterinarians, one nurse and two assistants. We work diligently to meet the needs of each patient, ensuring a thorough assessment, a complete diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment.

Veterinary Doctors

Ana Madeira

Clinical Director / Veterinary Doctor

Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2002, from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Vila Real.

Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Acupuncture with IVAS certification in 2007, from the Lusófona University of Lisbon.
Specialisation course in People and Talent Management in 2025, from APEU – Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra.
Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Dentistry from Improve Veterinary Education – attending 2026.
Founder of the Sta Apolónia Veterinary Clinic in 2008, Clinical Director and Veterinary Surgeon since its foundation.
Main areas of interest: Surgery, Integrative Medicine and Dentistry.
Enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, reading and practising yoga.

Lino Teixeira

Veterinary Doctor

Veterinary Doctor graduated from EUVG in 2011, having completed an Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Since then, he has been practising clinically in the field of companion animals.
He has a special interest in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Dermatology and Parasitology.
In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music and photography.

Bruna Frota

Veterinary Doctor

He completed his Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at UTAD in 2019.

He interned at Onevet Veterinary Hospital in Baixo Vouga.
She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, dermatology, oncology and imaging, having furthered her knowledge with a postgraduate degree in Veterinary Immunoallergology in 2025 from EUVG. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time reading and doing crafts.

Laura Magalhães

Veterinary Doctor

Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at EUVG in 2022; Master's Degree in Internal Medicine for Companion Animals at EUVG in 2025.

Her main areas of interest are Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Animal Behaviour and Dermatology.
In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, painting, travelling, photography and listening to music.

Veterinary Nurse & Veterinary Assistant

Margarida Tavares

Veterinary Nurse

Graduated in Veterinary Nursing from the Higher Agricultural School of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in 2024.

With a particular interest in small animal clinics, namely in surgery, anaesthetic monitoring, animal nutrition and the care provided to hospitalised/admitted animals, including the implementation of Cat Friendly techniques in daily practice. In 2021, she created her own project in the area of pet sitting and dog walking, reinforcing her practical experience and direct contact with animals in different care contexts.

Alice Brito

Veterinary Assistant

Assistant since 2014, performing duties continuously over the years, including experience in a hospital setting.

In her spare time, she enjoys crafts, an activity that reflects her creativity and attention to detail.

Ana Rodrigues

Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Assistant since 2010, with experience in reception, warehouse management, office support and monitoring hospitalised animals.

Throughout her career, she has developed a strong sense of responsibility, organisation and empathy, which are fundamental to animal care and welfare.
She values teamwork and close contact with guardians, always seeking to provide attentive and humane care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which is an essential part of her personal and professional balance.
