The CBC is important in the diagnosis and monitoring of<br \/>disease and infection, and can indicate if your pet has<br \/>dehydration, diarrhea, or anemia, for example. The results of the<br \/>tests can tell us a lot about the way your pet\u2019s body is functioning<br \/>and suggest possible health problems.<\/p><p><strong>Stool Sample Tests<\/strong><\/p><p>Stool samples may be collected before an appointment, or they<br \/>may be collected by one of our veterinarians. The material is then\u00a0examined under a microscope. We can detect the presence of the\u00a0cysts of parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium or eggs of\u00a0other parasites, such as roundworms, hookworms, and\u00a0tapeworms. The sample should be analyzed immediately after<br \/>collection, since urine left at room or higher temperature will<br \/>degrade, and test results will not be accurate. The tests\u00a0carried out on urine samples include evaluating the appearance,\u00a0chemistry, and sediment. Normal urine is yellow or amber in\u00a0colour and should be transparent or clear.
