The Paredes University Veterinary Hospital (HVUP) in Paredes was inaugurated in 2024 and was created from the merger of the former Paredes Veterinary Hospital, with over 9 years of experience, and SCIVET-Instituto Veterinário, in a project developed in partnership with CESPU-Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário.
Open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, it provides a permanent emergency service. This unique service provides your pet with a team of emergency professionals at any time of the day, every day of the year, consisting of a general practitioner, a veterinary nurse, a complete surgical team (surgeon, anaesthetist and veterinary nurse) and a veterinary doctor dedicated exclusively to imaging. At HVUP, in addition to the excellence of this emergency service, you can count on the knowledge and experience of veterinarians in all areas of companion animal medicine.
The HVUP also has an important teaching and research component, resulting from its direct collaboration in the Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Nursing at Cespu.
